MEET SARAH-JANE ANSCOMB (FORMERLY LEWIS), OUR EXPERT INSTRUCTOR

Sarah-Jane Anscomb, a Registered Nurse and Independent/Supplementary Prescriber, brings a wealth of experience to iTraining. Initially focused on Accident and Emergency care, she advanced to become an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and later took on the role of a Clinical Nurse Manager, overseeing a nursing team. Sarah-Jane discovered her passion for teaching while delivering a lecture on ankle injuries, which led her to pursue a more permanent role in Higher Education in 2017.

She now teaches Advanced Care Practitioner students from nursing, physiotherapy, and paramedic backgrounds at St George's University of London, where her combined clinical and academic expertise allows her to deliver lectures on clinical skills, assessment, minor injury management, and pain assessment.

MEET DORTHE SWABY-LARSEN, OUR EXPERT PRACTICE EDUCATOR

Dorthe Swaby-Larsen, MSc, BSc (Hons), RGN, PGCert HE, is a highly experienced nurse practitioner with over thirty years of experience in emergency and urgent care nursing. She has served as a Nurse Consultant for twelve years in South London and as the Deputy Head of Nursing at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. With a strong commitment to education, Dorthe has held roles as a Lecturer Practitioner at Middlesex University and continues to teach and train freelance.

She co-established a university-accredited Urgent Care Training Programme, successfully training Emergency Practitioners to manage minor injuries and illnesses in Urgent Care settings. Dorthe's particular expertise includes wound management and limb X-ray interpretation.

As a seasoned training coordinator with 18 years of experience in customer services and support, I've developed a passion for empowering teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. 

 

My expertise lies in making sure that training is scheduled, and all necessary information is uploaded in advance, to ensure that all certificates are provided for completed training.

With a strong educational foundation in Business Administration from the Durban University of Technology (DUT - South Africa), I've honed my skills in attention to detail, good communication and problem solving to ensure a happy customer.

In my 18-year career, I've had the privilege of working with diverse teams, fostering a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction. I'm committed to being polite, having patience, empathy and understanding to all our customers.

When I'm not working, you'll find me curled up with a good book, as reading is my go-to hobby. I'm always looking for new ways to grow and learn, and I'm excited to connect with like-minded professionals.

MEET MICHAEL JOHN CANETE, OUR DIRECTOR

Michael John Canete is a distinguished Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Kingston University of London, where he has been shaping the future of nursing education since January 2018. His passion for advancing nursing practice is reflected in his extensive experience across a variety of healthcare roles, academic qualifications, and professional certifications.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Michael began his nursing career at St. James Hospital in 1990, where he worked as a staff nurse in the theatre department. Over the following decade, he ascended the ranks, eventually becoming the Head Nurse in the ICU by 1994. His drive for excellence in patient care and leadership led him to pursue further opportunities in the UK, where he moved in 2001 and became a registered nurse with the UK’s Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Michael’s diverse experience includes roles in ICU nursing, where he worked at prestigious institutions such as St. George’s NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, providing critical care to patients in high-pressure environments.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Michael has been an influential educator throughout his career. He became a Resuscitation Officer at St. George's Hospital and later contributed to the training of healthcare professionals through his roles as an instructor and freelance trainer. His ability to teach and mentor others in critical care nursing is underscored by his qualifications, including his Fellowship in Higher Education (FHEA) and his Teacher status with the NMC.

Throughout his career, Michael has worked as a Nurse Consultant with Assurance Nursing Agency, and freelance trainer with organisations like M&K Update and Global Health Professional UK. His contribution to nursing education extends beyond the classroom, as he served as an Honorary Lecturer at the Faculty of Kingston & St. Georges University of London and was a Council Board Member at Hollister UK from 2011 to 2013.

Today, Michael is deeply committed to the development of nursing practice through education and continues to make significant contributions in the academic sphere, empowering future generations of nurses. His leadership, expertise, and dedication to the field are evident in both his academic roles and his on-going clinical practice.

Michael’s passion for nursing and education is complemented by his on-going commitment to personal and professional development, ensuring he remains at the forefront of his field. His journey reflects a career built on service, teaching, and continuous growth within the healthcare profession.

MEET MARIANNE ELIGUE CAÑETE, OUR FINANCE OFFICER

Marianne Eligue Cañete is a seasoned procurement and operations professional with over 15 years of comprehensive experience in purchasing, materials coordination, and project management within the construction and industrial sectors. She has demonstrated expertise in managing material requirements for multi-million-dollar projects, overseeing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient procurement processes that align with organizational objectives.

​

Throughout her career, Ms. Cañete has held key roles, most notably serving as Senior Purchase Officer at Schüco Middle East in the United Arab Emirates. In this capacity, she was responsible for supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, procurement documentation, and the timely coordination of deliveries for large-scale projects. Her commitment to excellence was further recognized when she was selected for training at Schüco’s headquarters in Germany, providing her with global insights into procurement and manufacturing operations.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Cañete gained valuable experience in project coordination, quantity surveying, and sales coordination with respected firms in the Philippines. These roles allowed her to develop a holistic understanding of construction operations, cost control, and client management.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Cañete has demonstrated versatility and compassion through her recent work in the United States as a Direct Support Professional, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

​

Ms. Cañete holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Laguna College and New Era University. She is proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in technical writing, documentation, and presentation. Her career reflects a commitment to precision, professionalism, and continuous development.
